Available as either a traineeship part-time or full-time course, you will gain the knowledge required for working within the horticultural industry. This qualification could lead you to work as a parks and gardens worker at local councils, resorts, retirement centres or as a wholesale or retail nursery assistant. Or you could even become self-employed!
There are many study streams associated with this qualification. You will gain knowledge in a variety of areas such as nursery plants, propagation, turf preparation and maintenance, irrigation, chemical handling and machinery.

This qualification is competency based. The assessments will enable students to demonstrate the underpinning knowledge, skills and attributes required to meet the course outcomes. You’ll be required to undertake projects, tests, written assignments and be able to demonstrate your practical skills.
